Education
Formal education and training requirements for physicians are among the most demanding of any occupation. It is a well known fact that doctors must spend 4 years in an undergraduate school, 4 years in medical school, and 3 to 8 years of residency. The length of residency varies between the speciality selected by the doctor. Premedical students in university must also complete undergraduate work in physics, biology, mathematics, English, and inorganic and organic chemistry. Students are also recommended to take courses in the humanities and the social sciences. Some students volunteer at local hospitals or clinics to gain practical experience in the health professions, something that is considered impressive by medical schools(Health Care Salary Online, n.a.).
Salary
Neurosurgeons salary is greater than $231,550. Other sources report that Neurosurgeon's make more than $600,000 per year. The disparity is due in part to the fact that the Bureau of Labor does not separate out Neurosurgeons from all surgeons reporting salary data (Health Care Salary Online, n.a.).
